Maritime and Coastguard Agency surveyors from Falmouth Marine Office after being alerted to the vessel by the Harbourmaster, detained the Liberian flagged ‘Rachel B’ chemical tanker at Falmouth on Monday after numerous faults were identified on board not in accordance with International Safety Management (ISM). Despite Economic Crisis U.S. Mortgage Rates Nudge Higher

Britain Denies Trying to Embarrass South Africa Over Zimbabwe Issue At UN

Nigeria to Spend $1.4 Billion to Subsidise Electricity Cost, Says Gov’t

The Nigerian government says it is spending N177.95 billion (about US$1.4 billion) to subsidize electricity consumption in the country over the next three years. According to a statement signed by Mr Olusegun Adeniyi, Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on Communication on Wednesday in Abuja, the new policy is contained in the new tariff regime for electricity consumption in Nigeria which takes effect from 1 July, 2008. Virgin Media And BBC Partner to Bring BBC IPlayer to TV

Virgin Media have announced a partnership with the BBC to launch BBC iPlayer onto its platform, making its 3.5 million TV customers the first in the UK to get the popular service via a TV platform. US Embassy Hands Over Dossier on Victims of Political Violence to Zimbabwe Gov’t
