Space Shuttle Discovery Arrives At Launch Pad, Countdown Test Set

Iran: Muslim Delegation Seeks To Spin Meeting With Pope

A delegation of Iranian Muslim leaders this week visited the Vatican for a three-day seminar on “Faith and Reason in Christianity and Islam” and a brief meeting with Pope Benedict XIV. The gathering, part of the Vatican’s ongoing dialogue with Muslims, was the sixth such meeting between the two sides in more than a decade. Read more

Venezuelan Labor Day Rally Attracts Hundreds of Thousands, Wages Raised By 30%

Waving red flags and pro-revolution banners “against imperialism” and for “socialism and peace” more than 300,000 workers marched in Caracas on Thursday to celebrate May 1, the International Day of Workers Struggle. The rally also celebrated a decree by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez increasing the minimum wage by 30% giving Venezuela the highest minimum wage in Latin America. Read more
