Colombian Paramilitary Leader Extradited to the United States to Face U.S. Drug Charges

Carlos Mario Jimenez-Naranjo, a.k.a. Macaco, has been extradited from Colombia to the United States to face drug trafficking charges, Assistant Attorney General Alice S. Fisher announced today. Jimenez-Naranjo faces drug-related charges in the District of Columbia and the Southern District of Florida. Jimenez-Naranjo made his initial appearance today in the District of Columbia before Judge Alan Kay. Read more

Loch Ryan Boater ‘lucky to be Alive’

Wednesday afternoon Clyde Coastguard received a report via Liverpool Coastguard that a motorist had sighted a man in difficulties in Loch Ryan in Dumfries and Galloway. The man, in his 70’s, had reportedly gone out into the loch in a 12 foot motor boat along with a toy inflatable that he then tried to climb into, which then capsized. When he then tried to pull himself back into the motor boat he suffered a head injury. A passing motorist spotted him getting into difficulty and called 999. Read more
