28-year-old Man Faces Sydney Central Local Court After Being Charged in Relation to the Seizure of 662kg of Pseudoephedrine

A 28-year-old Blacktown man will face Sydney Central Local Court today after being charged in relation to the seizure of 662 kilograms of pseudoephedrine in Sydney last month.
The man was arrested at Blacktown Police Station yesterday and is the sixth man charged as part of an AFP, Customs and NSW Crime Commission operation.
The illegal importation of chemicals used in the production of methylamphetamine (ice) had a potential street value of $52.8 million.
He was charged with aid and abet the supply of a prohibited drug greater than a larger commercial quantity (not cannabis) contrary to Section 27/25(2) of the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985 (NSW).
The five men charged last month were remanded in custody to reappear on 15 October 2008.
The maximum penalty for this offense is life imprisonment and/or $825,000 fine.
