68th National Day of Pakistan

A message issued by the High Commissioner of Pakistan for Sri Lanka, Shahzad A. Chaudhry on the 68th National Day of Pakistan said that the people of Pakistan have stood the test with traditional resilience, great courage and proverbial unity against serious challenges of terrorism and terrorists related activities.

“They have successfully thwarted attempts to seriously damage Pakistan’s social fabric,” the statement said.

High Commissioner Chaudhry in his message said that Pakistan greatly values and appreciate Sri Lanka’s serious and committed efforts to resolve the country’s ongoing conflict.

“The recent elections in the Eastern Province identify the great yearning of the people to become a part of their main-stream national life. This shall prove to be an important first step in ushering in normalcy in an affected region,” the statement added.

High Commissioner while expressing his confidence that Sri Lanka will usher an era of peace, stability and progress in all parts of the country mentioned that the people and the Government of Pakistan stands by the Government and the people of Sri Lanka in their march towards their rightful future of progress and prosperity.

The statement said that the continued commitment of political the leadership of the country will lead the way in achieving its expected goals
