A Pizza Story Bags the Jury Award in Jaipur

An Indian American film maker Parthiban Shanmugam’s, “A Pizza Story,” was adjudged for the Jury award at the three-day International Festival of Short Films on Culture which ended here on Saturday.

The 12-minute film directed by Parthiban Shanmugamis based on the life of a war-torn soldier’s daughter searching for her missing father.

At the end of the screening of 129 films from 38 countries, the jury, headed by Swapan Malik, Director of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, The US film “A Pizza Story” by director-producer Parthiban Shanmugam bagged the Jury Award.

Czech Ambassador Hynek Kmonicek presented the winners with golden statuettes in the presence of renowned director Krishna Shah at a glittering function at Jawahar Kala Kendra here in the evening. A large number of film technicians, film makers and film lovers joined the function, which formed part of a cultural extravaganza on the occasion of the ongoing “Rajasthan Diwas” festivities.

A Pizza Story tells the story of a child’s understanding but the heart of a warrior, 8-year-old Eliana Jennen embarks alone on a courageous quest to find her father, Capt. Lance Jennen, stationed in Iraq.
