Affordable UK Qualifications Launched in India
April 5, 2008
The Association of Business Executives (ABE), an international examining body and provider of Business and Management qualifications, launched its British qualifications programs for India in Chandigarhon April 4.
Mr. Kevin McLaven, First Secretary British Council, openly conveyed his pleasure of welcoming ABE to India and discussed the predominant role British Education has in the world. The British Council co-hosted the event with ABE which was attended by more than 150 people.
Ms. Maria Wejshag, Business Development Manager of ABE UK, informed the attending educational institutes that ABE can lead to an MBA with their approximately 55 universities in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Kenya, Malaysia or Switzerland. Maria also discussed ABE’s contribution to the intellectual, social and economic development of individuals and communities through the provision of relevant, high-quality, affordable qualifications.
Students can complete the ABE qualification of their choice in two years by finishing the certificate, Diploma and Advance Diploma in any of the six streams: Business Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Business Information Systems, Financial management, Marketing and Human Resource Management.
ABE has already had a breakthrough having tied up with Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana-Ambala and Shri Atma Vallabh Jain College in Ludhiana, with several more in the pipeline, she informed.
Dr. Major Gulshan Sharma, Member Advisory Board for Education and Employment, Government of Punjab, underlined the need for international qualifications in business management in meeting the challenges of globalisation, and fulfil the skill gap that exists in northern India with a very low employability index.
Mr. Nilesh Tandon, ABE’s North India Representative, said that the qualifications are perfectly suited to the growing economy of India -especially with the two initial years spent in India followed with the final years overseas, making the ABE qualifications a highly attractive and affordable option for students. Bearing in mind that a three years university degree in the UK costs around Rs.25 to 40 lakh, makes this an extremely affordable route.
ABE enjoys awarding body status in UK with presence in over 90 countries and they are committed to providing international qualifications which are relevant, recognized and respected.
Mr. P.S. Rathore, a management consultant and trainer, spoke about the strategies for success on this occasion.
