African Union Strongly Condemns Sunday’s Algeria Bombing

The AfricanUnion Commission on Monday condemned the bomb attack in Tizi Ouzou, north of Algeria on Sunday rumored to be by Islamist terrorists.
The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union, Mr. Jean Ping, in a statement, condemned the car bomb explosion, the latest since the 2007 terrorist attack in Algeria.
“These attacks once again, bring home the gravity of the threat posed by terrorism to Africa, and the need to intensify the efforts to address this scourge,” AU said.
Ping then extended condolences to the Algerian people for their loss, and expressed his solidarity and that of the African people, with the Government and people of Algeria during this “difficult time.”
