AirTran Airways Offers Assistance to Passengers Affected By Suspension of Skybus Airlines Service

April 5, 2008

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., today announced a special program to assist those passengers affected by Skybus Airlines announced suspension of service. Beginning April 5, 2008, passengers ticketed on Skybus can fly on stand-by status on AirTran Airways for a one-way, refundable fare of $50*. Passengers are encouraged to call 1-800-AIRTRAN to request and pay for their stand-by record prior to arriving at the airport to expedite airport passenger processing. All passengers must go to the AirTran Airways ticket counter to complete their processing for their requested flights.

Since stand-by travel is subject to space availability on flights, passengers holding Skybus tickets may also purchase confirmed tickets with AirTran Airways by calling 1-800-AIRTRAN or visiting the airline’s web site at http://www.airtran.com/ .

Tickets will be available for this special stand-by fare effective April 5, 2008, and travel must be completed by April 15, 2008. For the stand-by option, passengers must contact AirTran Airways for assistance prior to April 15, 2008, and travel is valid on the dates of their original itinerary on Skybus Airlines. Additionally, due to the nature of stand-by travel, AirTran Airways will allow passengers to stand-by up to five days earlier than their original travel date. Passengers must show proof of purchase on Skybus to take advantage of the stand-by fare offer of $50*.

Proof of purchase must be presented in the form of a ticket receipt obtained directly from Skybus or an e-ticket confirmation acquired through their reservations web site. 1. no imageairtran branding (Who am I?) on April 10th, 2008 4:33 pm

Airtran is doing really well, they just beat out all other airlines in terms of quality..I read an interesting article on http://www.brandweek.com about how Airtran is now targeting college kids…makes sense for their branding considering how cheap it is to fly on Airtran…I’m a senior at Northeastern and I fly JetBlue all the time because of price, but might consider AirTran cause I think they’re cheaper.
