The arrest of the guardians of 13 year-old Angel Togba, who was found hanged on November 30, 2007 in their bathroom, dominated the Liberian media this weekend.
The death of little Angel sparked public uproar, with student and women advocacy groups demanding an investigation into circumstances leading to the little girl’s death.
Mr. Hans Williams and his fiancée, Mardeah, who were guardians of Angel Togbah when she was found hanged in their bathroom on November 30, 2007, were arrested earlier this week and remanded in custody pending trial of the case.
The arrest of the couple along with three others for ‘criminal facilitation’ in the murder, followed a second autopsy performed by a Cuban pathologist, Dr. Jemmez Hernandez.
The first autopsy, performed by a Liberian pathologist concluded that there was no foul play in the death of little Angel.
The second autopsy discovered that the little girl was sexually tampered with and strangled to death, thus giving rise to the arrest of the five persons.
The maiden edition of the Democrat Weekend newspaper, in an article entitled “Angel Togbah: The Real Story”, quoting neighbors, claimed that the little girl was strangled by her guardians in the bathroom, as she shrieked for life.

After hearing of the mysterious death of Little Angel Meideh Togba, my prayers has been that God who happens to be the Judge of all judges exposes who ever it is that has a hand in the child’s death.
If Little Angel Togba took her own life as Mr. Hans Williams and his girl friend Ms. Paykue has said then, so be it; but one good thing I know about this God whom we all claim to serve is, He brings to light whatsoever that was done in the dark at His own appointed time. To the biological parents of Little Angel; take heart, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is working on your behalf that Real True Justice Be Done in tthe case of your baby Angel. REMEMBER, THE NAME IS A N G E L.
My advise to Cllr. Dean is, he should know that this case is not just any case that anybody can play with; eles, I can see the wrath of God coming down hard on any individual or group of people who will atempt any foul play all because of GREED.
