Beatles Memorabilia Makes Thousands
December 12, 2007
John Lennon’s hair is apparently worth thousands. Hair from the late Beatles frontman sold in an in England auction for $48,000 on December 12th. Betty Glasow, former hairdresser to the band, sold the lock of hair which was inside a book with a personal message from John to Betty that read, “to Betty, Lots of Love and Hair, John Lennon xx.”
The estimated selling bid was looked to be somewhere around $4,000-$6,000. Also sold in the auction was a photo of George Harrison that went for $13,000. The photo was signed “George Dandruff Harrison.”
Glasow states that she sold the memorabilia because she wanted Beatles fans to be able to enjoy them.
