Benin Closes International Airport 48 Hours to Assure Bush’s Security

February 16, 2008

Benin on Friday closed its international airport in Cotonou for 48 hours, to ensure President Georges W. Bush’s security as he arrives there on Saturday on the first leg of his five African nation-tour, transport ministry officials confirmed here.

President Bush will spend a few hours on a “working and friendly” visit in Benin to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between their two countries.

He is also expected to pledge support for Benin’s strive towards upholding democracy and promoting social development.

The American President will eventually visit Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda and Liberia.

President Bush has not been good for Africa. Some claim otherwise, but his policies on aid, trade, terror and everything else has undermined Africa at every single step. More on this at http://angryafrican.wordpress.com/2008/02/16/bush-in-africa-with-a-friend-like-this/
