British Millionaire in South Africa to Treat ’sex Addiction’
April 29, 2008
A British millionaire and leading Conservative party donor, Lord Laidlaw, flew to South Africa on Monday to start a six weeks ’sex therapy’ treatment beginning Tuesday.
Laidlaw took his admirers, especially political juggernauts by surprise Monday when he went public to reveal that he is seeking medical treatment for “sex addiction” in South Africa after taking part in orgies with £3,000-a-night prostitutes in the UK.
Lord Laidlaw, 64, whose personality and wealth worth £730 million, admitted last night “I have suffered from the disease for my entire adult life”.
After being confronted with the allegation by a cross section of the British media, Laidlaw said he would donate £1 million to a UK addiction society to help fellow sufferers.
“Many people suffer different types of this disease. There is no cure for it and self-help is rarely successful,” he admitted.
He admitted, though, that the treatment at a South African private hospital would not cure him, but only prevent any relapse.
