Air Methods Corporation Confirms Fatal Helicopter Crash in Wisconsin

Air Methods Corporation has reported today that one of its EC-135 twin-engine helicopters serving the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin crashed Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. CST after delivering a patient to a hospital. The pilot, flight physician, and flight nurse received fatal injuries. Read more

Tornadoes in Central US Kill Over a Dozen People

At least 19 people have been killed in late afternoon tornadoes that ripped through the central United States on Saturday May 10 with over 50 reported injured and at least three people are missing. Tornadoes hit towns on the Missouri and Oklahoma borders which caused significant damage. Read more
Venezuela Increases Proven Oil Reserves By 30%

Venezuela’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Rafael Ramirez, announced yesterday that the country’s proven oil reserves have been increased to 130 billion barrels, a 30% increase over previous official figures. Ramirez made the announcement at the start of the first meeting of the South American Energy Council, which is a subgroup of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR), in which all energy ministers of South America participate.
