Coco-Cola Plans to Make Liberia Centre of Its Mano Union Operations
May 2, 2008
The Coca-Cola Company plans to make Liberia the focal point of its operations in the Mano River Union, which comprises Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.
Coca-Cola Company chairman and chief executive officer Neville Isdell disclosed this when he arrived in Liberia on Wednesday to assess Coca-Cola facilities in the country and conduct feasibility studies for the construction of a waste water treatment plant.
Isdell told APA on Thursday after meeting with Vice-President Joseph Boakai that the treatment plant will help avert water pollution and enable fish to live in waste water generated by the Coca-Cola bottling plant.
“I am in the country to help the country re-emerge from years of civil conflict by increasing my company’s investment in the country,” he said.
He was accompanied by Coca-Cola Africa president and chairman of the board of directors of Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
