Condolences on the Death of Paraguayan Presidential Candidate
The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, lamented the death of the former General and Paraguayan presidential candidate Lino Oviedo, who died in a helicopter crash while campaigning.
Insulza conveyed his condolences to the family of the former Paraguayan soldier and to the leadership of the UNACE party, which backed the candidacy of Oviedo for the presidency of Paraguay.
The OAS leader expressed his hope that the electoral process underway in the country continues to move ahead in normalcy as it has to this point, which is an indication of the will of Paraguayan society to advance peacefully toward the consolidation of its democracy.
