East African Legislative Assembly Announces Deployment of About 40 Legislators From As Observers to the Rwandan Parliamentary Elections

The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) on Sunday announced the deployment of about 40 legislators from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania as observers to the Rwandan parliamentary elections of chamber of deputies billed for Monday, 15 September.

At a press conference at the Rwandan parliamentary building, EALA’s current seat, Dr Amani Kabourou, MP and chairman of the East African observer mission to Rwanda, said Rwanda’s nine legislators were excluded from the team to ensure impartiality.

MP Nusura Tiperu, Ugandan representative to the regional assembly expressed satisfaction over the holding of parliamentary elections since the 1994 genocide.
