Egypt Warns Palestinians Against Storming Its Borders

Egypt has strongly warned Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Palestine against any attempt to storm its border along the Gaza strip.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hossam Zaki said “any attempt to storm the Egyptian border by force will be met very firmly”.

He warned the Palestinian factions “trying to blackmail Egypt” and expressed surprise and indignation regarding statements made by leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad about the possibility of storming the Egyptian border.

He said such behavior will not be serving the Palestinian people who appreciate the Egyptian support for their cause.
