125px-Flag_of_Egypt.svgThe Egyptian Petroleum minister Sameh Fahmy, met Monday with Chakib Khelil, Algeria’s Energy minister, who is currently visiting Egypt heading a large delegation to attend the meetings of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC).

Hamdy Abdelazez information officer for the Ministry of Petroleum told reporters on Monday that the talks dealt with ways to support relations and joint cooperation projects between Egypt and Algeria.

The discussions dealt also with areas of future cooperation between the two countries in the fields of petroleum, natural gas and mineral resources in addition to discussing setting up a joint venture between the joint Algerian and Egyptian Petroleum Company, the Egyptian and Algerian Natural Gas Holding Company operating in the search for oil and gas in Egypt, Algeria, the Middle East and Africa.
