Egyptian Authorities Arrest 68 Migrants Trying to Reach Italy

The Egyptian border patrol in collaboration with the police of Alexandria (200km north of Cairo) arrested 68 Egyptians on Tuesday for trying to migrate illegally to Italy.
The would-be immigrants were arrested after a tip -off about their attempt to enter the Italian territory without entry visas.
During initial investigations the arrested persons revealed that an Egyptian citizen agreed to facilitate their attempt to enter Italy by sea from the coast of Alexandria on board a fishing boat in return of about $3000 per person.
The police arrested 3 people who were trying to leave the Egyptian coast and border guards managed to arrest the remaining 65 persons afterwards.
Meanwhile, the general prosecutors began investigations into migration attempt.
