Egyptian Transport Minister Mohamed Mansour has resigned after assuming responsibility for a train collision that killed 18 people and injured 36 people on Saturday.
The two passenger trains collided south of Cairo after one of the trains hit a buffalo.
The head of state of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, approved the resignation of submitted to him on Tuesday, an official source at the Presidency told reporters.
