March 12, 2008
Ethiopian Airlines is introducing the 787 Boeing “dream liner” on its flights to the Entebbe airport to meet traffic demand in Uganda.
From 2006 to 2007 Ethiopian Airlines saw traffic rise by 61 percent and revenue increase by 37 percent, Uganda country manager Ermejachew Ragassa said on Tuesday.
In the past three years, Ethiopian Airlines has seen its passengers through Entebbe increase from 1.1 million to 2.1 annually.
Ragassa said in Kampala that the airline has also enjoyed an increase in revenue from $350 million to $800 million annually.
Now Ethiopian Airlines is looking for more ways to improve its services, she said.
Since Ethiopian Airlines started its services in Uganda in 1965, the airline has contributed steadily to the growth of the number of tourists.
