Ethiopia is preparing a draft program to help adapt to the effects of climate change in the country.
According to local media reports-Ethiopian Radio, the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) said that the country is developing hydro, wind and geothermal power to cope up with the challenges of climate change, which is becoming an international concern since the past few years.
The report said that the draft highlighted the expansion of human and vet health services, infrastructure, disaster prevention system and organizational preparedness at community level to cope up impacts of climate change.
“It also includes the need for capacity building to protect pesticides and reduction of biodiversity, prevent depletion of land, disasters for agricultural productive and water supply,” added the authority.
It was reported that financial and technological support is expected to channel this year for the implementation of the program as per the Copenhagen Accord.
