Film Students Say They Want to Make All Genres of Movies

Flag of IndiaFilm Students from FTII, Pune, SRFTI, Kolkata, MGRFTI, Chennai and MCRC Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi interacted with media this week in Goa.

All of them were unequivocal about their desire to make all genres of movies after their graduation. N Sundar from from MGRFTI , Chennai said that he wants to make good films in sync with the culture of the country and added that subject s which has strong human element and emotional link is what interests him. Vardan Tiple and Ashim Paul from SRFTI stated that as filmmakers they do not want to restrict themselves and they want to make comedies, thrillers, mainstream bollywood films etc. Superna Sarkar from MCRC , Jamia Milia Islamia said that even though she is a trained classical singer she took up film making course because she felt passionate about the art and craft of film making. Talking about the documentary ‘Allah is Great’ for which Prince George from FTII has done sound design said that though it was a difficult proposition to do sync sound recording with the available resources they were able to do it. P Krishnan, Professor from MGRFTI was also present at the press conference.
