Gambian president Yahya Jammeh has appointed a new Minister of Energy, which position had been vacant since the appointment of its substantive holder Ousman Jammeh as Minister of External Affairs in September.
The new Minister of Energy is Sira Ndow-Njie, who until her appointment was a senior official of the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC).
With this latest appointment, there now remains three vacant ministries in the cabinet whose substantive holders were removed. These are the ministries of Higher Education, Information and Agriculture.
