Ghadaffi Gives Gambian Leader Camels As Gifts

The Libyan leader, Muammar Ghadafi, has given President Yahya Jammeh five camels as a gift ranging from two and half months to 13 years old.
The animals were landed at Banjul international airport on Friday night by a special flight, a Trans Attico Cargo ST ATH with six man crew, It was said to have been on a camel distribution mission to eight African countries including Ghana, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
The animals, destined for President Jammeh’s zoo at his birthplace of Kanilai, where a variety of animals including camels, can be found, were officially handed over by the Deputy Libyan Ambassador to The Gambia, Mr. Mohammed Alk Matty as a “gift from our leader, brother Ghaddafi to his brother President Jammeh.”
Mr Jumma Janneh of the Gambia Foreign office received the gifts on behalf of the President and thanked the Libyan leader for the gesture which he said would further strengthen the already cordial relationship between our two countries.
