Iraqi Soldiers Find 22 Bodies in Mass Grave

The U.S. military says Iraqi soldiers operating with Coalition Forces have discovered a mass gave holding 22 bodies in the Lake Thar Thar region.
A statement Tuesday said the grave was found Saturday during Operation Fahwat al Asad 2, which included both ground and air assault forces searching for potential insurgent locations.
U.S. military officials said the Iraqi Army and Provincial Security Forces are investigating the mass grave to determine the identities of the victims and the causes of death for notification of their families.
Authorities said during the opening phases of the operation, two car bomb facilities and a number of weapons caches were destroyed, and about 30 men were detained.
In violence Monday, a roadside bomb in eastern Baghdad killed one person and wounded at least three others. In western Baghdad, authorities say assailants shot and killed a member of the Khadra neighborhood council.
Also Monday, the Iraqi Red Crescent Society said nearly 2.3 million Iraqis - mostly women and children - have fled their homes and remain displaced within the country.
