Italian Police Target 20 Suspected Terrorists

November 6, 2007

Italian news reports say police in the northern city of Milan have launched a raid targeting 20 foreign nationals suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.

The media report police are searching Tuesday for the suspected terrorists, who are accused of recruiting potential suicide bombers to carry out attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A court in Milan has issued about 20 warrants in connection with the raid, though it is unclear how many people police have arrested.

The news reports say police seized detonation devices and poisons during the raid.
