Jamie Lynn is Going to be a Very Young Mother

Jamie Lynn Spears gave the scoop of the year to OK! magazine, when she revealed that at only 16-years old, she is expecting a baby. The Zoey 101 star says she and boyfriend Casey Aldridge were caught off guard when their home pregnancy test turned up positive. “It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected. I was in complete and total shock and so was he.”

Jamie Lynn is now three months pregnant, and says she plans on raising the tot in her and Casey’s hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana. She says she waited two weeks to tell anyone, and then around Thanksgiving, gave the news to mama Lynne Spears.

“She was very upset,” says Jamie Lynn, because it wasn’t what she expected at all.” Lynne took a week to gather herself, and then “became supportive.”

Lynne tells OK! “I didn’t believe it, because Jamie Lynn’s always been so conscientious, never late with her curfew, I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year old baby.

It’s more shocking that Jamie Lynn managed to finally upstage her wacky big sis Britney Spears. As for Brit, her “people” gave the comment, “Britney is aware of the news of Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy. She wishes her sister nothing but the best and asks for privacy during this time.”

As for the fact that Jamie Lynn, as the star of the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101, is a role model for young girls, this is somewhat devastating news.

The network released the statement: “We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation.”

Knowing that this will shock and devastate her fans, and alienate their parents, Jamie Lynn advises that as for pre-marital sex, “It’s better to wait.”

Earlier this year, we wrote a story about the strife going on inside the Spears family, where Lynne didn’t want Britney hanging out at all with her little sister, fearing the negative influence.
