Kenya Swears in Its First Inspector General of Police
Kenya’s first Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo was sworn in to office on Monday in Nairobi.
David Kimaiyo took the oath of office at the Chief Justice Willy Mutunga’s office in Nairobi.
Mutunga challenged him to urgently address insecurity incidences facing the country, and ensure that security is tight ahead of next years General elections.
"Police preparations must go beyond numbers and force of arms," he said.
He becomes the first Inspector General under the new constitutional dispensation.
