Sheikh Abdallahi Nouri’s Kuwaiti charity association has opened council flats equipped with a training center for handicapped people in Nouakchott.
Located in Dar Naim district, those flats equipped with a craft training center would help integration of handicapped people in the working life, the Secretary General of the Mauritanian Social Affairs Ministry, Dr Mohamed Ould Ely Telmoudi, said.
Handicapped people represented 5 % of the Mauritanian population some of whom enjoyed assistance from partner organizations, while the mentally handicapped persons and deaf-and-dumb people are often begging at big crossroads in Nouakchott.
