A group of law-enforcement agencies from Algeria, Burundi, Egypt, Kenya, Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and Sudan are receiving advanced training within a framework of a Russian government’s program, APA learned from the Russian Ministry of Interior on Saturday in Moscow.
The group attended regular lectures and was acquainted with special means and facilities, weapons as well as the skills of tracker dogs. As one policeman among the group admitted, there were no dog expert services in law enforcement bodies of most of African countries.
The local media wrote Saturday that black policemen in khaki uniform appeared on the streets of Moscow, checked documents and carried out all kinds of examination of personal effects of passersby.
According to many Moscovites and guests in the city, the weekend appearance of dark-skinned African policemen speaking between themselves in a mixture of Arabic and English caused public bewilderment and amusement.
As part of their training, the participants have already worked in the capital metro, the Domodedovo airport, and participated with colleagues of the capital police on rail transport at the Yaroslavl train station. The raid on the Yaroslavl train station began from the examination of the passengers on the platform, mostly of long-distance trains.
