Liberia to Confer Highest Honour on Bush

The foreign ministry in Monrovia has announced that the Liberian government will confer on U.S President George W. Bush, Liberia’s highest honor, the Grand Band Order of the Pioneers, during his visit on Thursday.

At the investiture ceremony to be held in the Pavilion of the presidential mansion, the Grand Band Order of African Redemption will also be conferred on Mrs Laura Bush who is making her second visit to Liberia.

Meanwhile, the Liberian capital is being given a face-lift in preparation for the visit of George Bush and the American First Lady.

Strategic parts of the city are being decorated with red, white and blue banners representing the national colors of both Liberia and the U.S, while the presidential mansion and other strategic national buildings are being painted.
