LTTE Artillery Launching Pad And Ammunition Storage Destroyed in Sri Lankan Air Force Raid

An LTTE artillery launching pad and an ammunition storage located North of Nedunkerni in Mullaithivu was destroyed in an Air Force fighter jet attack today (10) at 12.15 p.m., defense sources said.

Pilots have confirmed that there were sporadic explosions followed by smoke clouds rising from the target location, during low diving observations made subsequent to the air sorties, Air Force sources said.

The precise target destroyed was constantly used as an LTTE artillery launching pad where several indiscriminate attacks were mounted at civilian settlements bordering Welioya, defense sources said.
