A magnitude 6.3 earthquake has occurred in the Kepulauan Tanimbar Region of Indonesia on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 09:39:49 UTC.
The quake was at a depth of 12.6 miles and at a distance of:
150 km (90 miles) N of Saumlaki, Tanimbar Islands, Indonesia
350 km (215 miles) WSW of Dobo, Aru Islands, Indonesia
645 km (400 miles) N of DARWIN, Northern Territory, Australia
2700 km (1680 miles) E of JAKARTA, Java, Indonesia
There have been no reports of casualties despite the quake being felt strongly by the local islanders. A tsunami warning was not issued.
