Mauritanian Junta Sacks Director of State-run News Agency

Dicko Soudani, the director general of the state-owned Mauritanian News Agency (AMI), was sacked on Monday by the high military state Council.
Soudani has been replaced by El Moudir Ould Bouna, a former Literacy minister under Maaouya Ould Taya’s regime (1984 – 2005).
Officials with two other state media, Radio and Television, respectively Kaber Ould Hamoudi and Hamoud Ould M’hamed were also dismissed on Wednesday following the putsch and replaced by Mohamedou Ould Bouke and Imam Sheikh Ould Ely.
The two broadcasters were sacked for broadcasting the statement about the sacking of the four senior army chiefs including the chairman of the high state Council, Gen. Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz.
