McCain Leads Democrats in Latest Poll
April 23, 2008
The latest Rasmussen poll has John McCain leading both Democrats. These numbers are interesting because they show that the voters are listening to the candidates rather than the interest groups.
McCain 47%
Obama 44%McCain 49%
Clinton 43%
And the Favorable/Unfavorable numbers are even more interesting:
McCain: 52/44
Obama: 49/49
Clinton: 43/55
The liberal blogosphere, the DNC, and Democrat interest groups have tried (and tried again) to define John McCain to little success. The McCain camp is driving the news cycles with positive coverage of McCain touring economically depressed areas and visiting with troops. At the end of the day, John McCain is the Republican nominee and will get coverage no matter what he does.
On the other side, Democrat voters, similarly, are listening to the candidates and apparently don’t like what they are hearing. In recent days, both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have gone negative and their unfavorables have risen as a result.
