The Medical Council of Mauritius (MCM) will twin with the Medical Council of Great Britain “as soon as possible”, MCM said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The twinning follows a meeting of the Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Chandra Ramgoolam with various officials during his recent visit to London.
Ramgoolam met with Prof. Derek Yellon, the director of the Hatter Cardiovascular Institute, Prof. Malcolm Grant, a member of the Medical Council of Great Britain, and in Prof. Malcolm Grant of the University of London.
The statement says that both sides decided that the twinning of the medical councils will bring great benefits to both countries and that it should be carried out as soon as possible.
