May 16, 2008
Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe, Friday in Harare at a ZANU PF central committee meeting, promised to crash opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai in a presidential election run-off set for June 27.
The veteran Zimbabwean leader vowed to cruise to a landslide victory against his long-time rival Morgan Tsvangirai of the Movement for the Democratic Change (MDC) who defeated him in the first round held in March.
“We will make sure we never lose again to the MDC,” Mugabe said.
Tsvangirai beat Mugabe by 47.9 percent to 43.2 percent in the first round last 29 March.
