125px-Flag_of_Samoa.svgThe $26-thousand tala that was raised in a televised HOPE Concert for the tsunami victims, was presented yesterday to the Samoan government. The money was presented by Reverend Falefatu Enari to the Deputy Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni.

Reverend Falefatu acknowledged the support of TV3, Samoatel, the musicians and the public who supported the concert which was primarily to offer comfort and hope to the families of the victims through music.

Misa said that the tribute shows not only the kindness and generosity of the Samoan public, but the celebration of the musical talents of the Samoan artists.

Veteran and evergreen artists such as Fa’anana Jerome Grey, Muliaga Mamaia, Fa’asavalu Dave Parker, Tuiletufuga George Tuiletufuga, Mac To’omalatai and Tanuvasa Fa’amanatu Solomona offered their performances in aid of the Hope Concert.

DESTINY CHURCH DONATION: Another financial donation was also presented to the Deputy Prime Minister yesterday. $20-thousand tala was donated by the Destiny Church of Auckland New Zealand by one of its Samoan members, Manusamoa Siliniu who traveled from Auckland to present the money. $20,470 dollars was raised in one Sunday by the church members in an impromptu collection requested by the Destiny Church’s Bishop, Brian Tamaki. The church’s envoy Manusamoa Siliga said the Church is planning more aid for the tsunami victims in the near future.
