National Service Scheme Volunteers Meet Vice President
National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteers met the Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari this week. These volunteers have gathered in the capital from various parts of the country to participate in Republic Day Camp – 2013.
Shri Ansari interacted with the NSS volunteers and congratulated them for making significant contribution in social service and helping the people during national calamity and crisis. He asked the volunteers to follow their motto and set their examples. The NSS Memento was presented to the Vice President on the occasion.
200 NSS Volunteers (99 boys and 101girls) from 27 states and 7 Union Territories are participating in this camp. The parade camp brings a Mini India to Delhi during the month long training camp since 1988 where they not only interact among themselves but also meet and talk to national personalities and exchange their views as well as experience. The volunteers are imparted training in leadership development and parade apart from socio-culture and academic activities. They stay in the camp in exemplary harmony and lead a simple life.
