The new community airline “Africa Sky” (ASKY) based in Lome has scheduled its inaugural flight on January 15.
“The Board of Directors decided to set Friday, January 15, 2010 for the launch of the company’ flights”, Djondo Gervais Koffi, the chairman of the Board of ASKY told a press conference.
The Board of Directors of ASKY met Monday in the Togolese capital. With two state-of-the-art Boeing 737 aircraft, the company will initially serve West and Central African countries.
The service will expand later to cover the rest of Africa, Europe, America and Asia, the borad said.
ASKY which has a capital of $120 million contributed by shareholders like the West Bank, the African Development Bank (BOAD), the Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), the Pan-African Bank, Ecobank, Ethiopian Airlines, South African group SAKHUMNOTHO, and private investors.
