A new low-cost Zimbabwean airline targeting the lucrative regional market is set for launch in September.
The airline, called Fly Kumba, will initially offer low-cost packages for travelers between the capital Harare and Johannesburg in South Africa.
There will also be regular flights from the second city of Bulawayo to Johannesburg.
The new airline is expected to face stiff competition from the government-operated Air Zimbabwe which has enjoyed a near monopoly since 2000 when most airlines withdrew from Zimbabwe, citing lack of business.
Fly Kumba said it had acquired new Boeing 737-200 aircraft and modern equipment.
