New Singer for Journey Found on the Web

All of the cover bands in the world will now be swamping the internet even more with videos showcasing themselves performing their hero’s hits now that Journey has found their new singer via the web. Guitarist, Neal Schon, for the classic rock band found what he thought to be exactly what he was looking for in a new frontman whilst surfing youtube. Arnel Pineda, a Filipino singer, posted a video of him and his band The Zoo performing Journey’s hits which caught the eye of Schon, leading the guitarist to contact the singer.

After being convinced he wasn’t being pranked Pineda took the job replacing the last Journey singer Steve Augeri.

“It’s so exciting to sing with one of the best bands in the world,” Pineda said in a statement. “It’ll be a lot of hard work on my part and I’m actually looking forward to the scrutiny I’ll get from the hardcore Journey fans. I know they’ll expect me to sound exactly like ‘the voice’ (Steve Perry), but that will never happen. I know there’s only one Steve Perry in this world.
