Nigeria Government Blames Petrol Scarcity on Sabotage
April 9, 2008
The Nigerian government has blamed lingering scarcity of petrol in the country on sabotage and the major petroleum products’ marketers.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) told reporters in Abuja on Monday that the scarcity of petrol at refill stations was a mere “hiccup caused by fellow countrymen who have decided to create problems for others”.
The NNPC group general manager for public affairs, Levi Ajuonuma said the capital, Abuja, was well supplied with more than 130 trucks of petrol daily.
“So, where is the fuel that comes into Abuja daily?” he said.
