Nigeria Seeks Collaboration with China in Economic Development

Nigeria’s Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Chief Sarafa Ishola, has said that Nigeria was willing to forge enduring bilateral cooperation with China in the area of economic development.
Receiving the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria at the weekend in Abuja, Mr Xu Jianguo, who called on him , Isola said that such bilateral cooperation would benefit Nigeria in its economic development.
He noted that Chinese companies had been showing interest in the development of Nigeria’s mineral resources and the power sector and assured the envoy that Nigeria would welcome China’s involvement in the development of other sectors of its economy.
Earlier, Jiangua had said that his visit was a follow-up to Nigerian President Umaru Yar’adua’s recent visit to China.
He said that China was ready to collaborate with Nigeria, especially in the development of its steel sector.
