Nine People Confirmed Killed in an Attack on Wadata, a Border Community in Wase Local Government of Plateau, North Central Nigeria

nigeriaNo fewer than nine people have been confirmed killed in an attack on Wadata, a border community in Wase Local Government of Plateau, north central Nigeria.

Lt.- Col. Benjamin Olalo, the Special Task Force (STF) Sector Commander in charge of Plateau South, confirmed the incident saying the attacks took them by surprise.

“We woke up to discover that some of our people were silently attacked and killed by unknown gunmen.

“What frightened us the most is the quiet manner the attackers carried out their act and did not take anything from the houses of the victims.”

Olalo said: “We got the report of the Wase attack, but the details have not reached my office.

“I have also learnt that the sector commander in charge of the area, has gone to the scene along with the council chairman and other officials. As soon as I get the details, I will furnish you with them.”

Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau, Abraham Ayomanor, also confirmed the incident saying they are aware of the attack. but were yet to know the full details including the number of casualties,’’ he said.
