Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $26 Million; Two $400,000 Power Play Prizes Won!
May 11, 2008
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, 2 lucky tickets in Oklahoma (1) and South Carolina (1) matched all 5 white numbers with the Power Play and won $400,000 cash! An amazing 7 other winners matched all 5 white numbers for $200,000.
These lucky tickets were purchased in Idaho (1), Kentucky (2), Louisiana (1), North Dakota (1), Oklahoma (1), and South Carolina (1). In addition, 440,883 tickets across the nation won a total of $5,041,584 in prizes.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $26 million!
The cash option for the Wednesday, May 14th drawing will be an estimated $12.7 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 7, 18, 30, 41, 45 and the Powerball was 6. The Power Play multiplier was 2.
Other prizes won Saturday evening included twenty-three tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Ten additional tickets that won at this prize level also wisely purchased the Power Play and had the $10,000 winnings multiplied by 2 to $20,000!
A total of 94,051 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prizes by 2 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2 to 5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased $19,108,494 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.
