Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $33 Million
December 9, 2007
The jackpot in America’s Powerball lottery game continues to grow. Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening, 3 lucky tickets in Oklahoma (1) and Pennsylvania (2) matched all 5 white numbers with the Power Play and won $600,000 cash each! Two other winners matched all 5 white numbers for $200,000. These tickets were purchased in Kansas (1), and Wisconsin (1). In addition, 392,102 tickets across the nation won a total of $5,130,862 in prizes.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $33 million with a cash option for the Wednesday, December 12th drawing of an estimated $16.3 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 4, 8, 25, 29, 31 and the Powerball was 41. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Other prizes won Saturday evening included twenty-five tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Two additional tickets that won at this prize level also wisely purchased the Power Play and had the $10,000 winnings multiplied by 3 to $30,000!
A total of 75,341 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prizes by 3 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar.
Players purchased $18,170,456 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.Net News Publisher
