125px-Flag_of_Ghana.svg_President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana in his New Year message to the nation has expressed the hope that his 2008 election campaign slogan of a ’Better Ghana’ would become a reality this year and challenged the citizenry to position themselves for that.

President Mills impressed on Ghanaians that though there would be challenges, they should be guided by the gallant behavior exhibited by the victorious Under-20 football team, the Black Satellites who braced all the odds to win the covetous trophy for Ghana and Africa last year.

He therefore entreated the youth to take advantage of the opportunities his administration has created such as merchandised agriculture and ICT, among others to reduce unemployment among them, adding that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party was poised to create more jobs for the people.

President Mills also used the occasion to appeal to the senior national football team, the Black Stars to emulate the Satellites by doing everything possible to win the African Cup of Nations which is slated for Angola this month.

Some political analysts have described President Mills’ broadcast as brief and concise that gives hope to Ghanaians in terms of job creation.
